Rina Moore, 1923-1975.
Believed to be the first female of Maori descent to graduate in medicine in New Zealand, Rina Moore (nee Rohipa), of Ngati Kahungunu, Te Whanau-a-Apanui, and Rangitane, obtained her medical degree from Otago University in 1949.

Professor William Percy Gowland, Medical School.
William Percy Gowland (1879-1965) was the Professor of Anatomy at the Otago Medical School between 1914 and 1943. He went on to become the Director of Medical Services at Wellington Hospital from 1944 to 1949.
