Don A. Stuart was one of the pen-names of long-time Astounding/Analog editor John W. Campbell Jr. This October 1937 issue was Campbell’s first as editor and includes his story Out of Night. He was editor for the magazine for the next 34 years. This cover, by Howard V. Brown, illustrates the Edward E. ‘Doc’ Smith cover story, Galactic Patrol.
