Abstract
Vitruvian Man is one of the most famous drawings in history. Drawn by Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) in 1490, it was based on details regarding ideal human proportions from Vitruvius’s work, De Architectura (1st cent. BC), and depicts a man, with arms and legs askance, inside a square and a circle. Leonardo’s original is surrounded by his notes on Vitruvius’s work.
