Edgar Mansfield (1907-1996) was born in England but grew up in New Zealand and went on to become a bookbinder, sculptor and artist of some renown. This sculpture, a bronze casting on a marble mount, was part of his Animism Series from 1955. The sculpture was obtained locally and is privately owned.
