Abstract
Callosities (rough white calcified skin infested with sea lice) on the heads of southern right whales are used as identifiers of individual animals. In this photograph (left to right) Masters student Anthony Davidson, Dr Will Rayment and DOC officer, Kath Blakemore, wait for the whale to surface to confirm its identity.
